Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK)

The only airport serving Marrakech, located 6 km southwest of the Medina. A petit taxi to the city centre costs a fixed rate of 70–100 MAD (€6–€9). Bus line 19 serves the airport for 20 MAD. Uber/Careem also operate here.

The Medina: Navigation Basics

• Navigate by landmarks, not street names (most don't have them)
• Bargaining is expected in the souks — start at 40% of the first asking price
• The Medina closes off motorcycles after 7pm — evenings are safer for walking

Where to Eat

The Medina has food at every price point. Café des Épices (overlooking the spice market) and Le Jardin (riad courtyard, vegetarian-friendly) are consistent favourites. Avoid restaurants directly on Jemaa el-Fna — overpriced and frequently harassed entry. Walk one street back for better food at half the price.
